Artist Statement
I’m inspired by contrast—light against dark, softness against edge, moments that feel both ordinary and mysterious. I like to paint what catches me emotionally: a shadow, a shape, the feeling of something fading or half-remembered.
Lately, I’ve been drawn to layering—building up textures and breaking things down again. I’m currently working in oil, cold wax, experimenting with how much to reveal and how much to leave unfinished. My paintings lean into mood and memory, blending realism with abstraction.
As a teacher, I care deeply about helping people trust themselves creatively. I believe you don’t need to be fearless—you just need a place to start and permission to explore.
